WHAT IS THE WESTPLEX? The Westplex is defined as St. Charles, Lincoln, Franklin and Warren Counties, primarily. This vast area west of St. Louis is one of the fastest growing areas of the U.S. Major cities include St. Charles, St. Peters, O'Fallon, Lake St. Louis, Wentzville, Troy, Winghaven, Warrenton, and Washington. The term "Westplex" was coined in 1991 by Kaspar Broadcasting as we put our FM radio station, KFAV 99.9 FM on the air and wanted to bring this community together under one name, similiar to the area in Texas between Dallas and Forth Worth, termed the "Metroplex".
