The St Louis Zoo is giving their stingrays a chance to create paintings and swim through a special obstacle course. At first, the stingrays swim through an obstacle course made from PVC tubes, which simulates hunting and catching prey. The agile rays navigated the course and were given a fish as a reward. The trainers then helped the stingrays create their own paintings. A stingray would touch the target, a ball filled with seafood that was connected to a long pole. At the end of the pole was a paintbrush that moved along a canvas each time a stingray touched the target. The result was a masterpiece created by these special stingrays.

The Stingrays at Caribbean Cove features a 17,000 gallon pool that gives zoo visitors the opportunity to watch, touch, and even feed the stingrays. The traveling exhibit will stay through September 26. Their works of art will be available for purchase in the Tropical Trader's shop.
