Coroner Finds Brittany Murphy’s Husband May Have Died From Same Cause As She

The Los Angeles County Coroner has determined that actress Brittany Murphy's much maligned husband, 40-year-old screenwriter Simon Monjack, died from acute pneumonia and severe anemia – the very same two causes of Brittany’s death. Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter told CNN that some prescription drugs were found in his system, but not in lethal levels. Monjack was found dead on May 23rd at the couple’s house in Hollywood, a scant five months after his wife died.

About 75 friends and family members laid Monjack to rest next to Brittany Murphy, in a private orthodox Jewish ceremony at the Chapel of the Hills, the same memorial chapel where Murphy was eulogized in December after her death. As was his wishes, he was buried next to his late wife at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
