The St Louis Cardinals lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 4 to one, Monday afternoon at Busch Stadium. Randy Wolf fanned five and gave up just one run on four hits to improve to 12 and 9 on the season. The Cards now trail the Brewers by ten-and-a-half-games in the central division. The Cards and Brewers will meet again, with Kyle Lohse squaring off against Yavani Gallardo of the Brewers. This time hopefully the sun won’t be in their eyes

And the Cardinals activated 33-year-old Nick Punto from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday. Punto missed 36 games after being placed on the DL July 29 with a strained left oblique. His 2011 campaign has also been interrupted by a sports hernia and right forearm injuries.

There are injuries in Tiger town, as Mizzou junior tailback Kendial Lawrence suffered a cracked left fibula at practice Monday. He will optimistically be out about a month, according to MU spokesman Chad Moller. The reason for optimism is that because the injury is to a non-weight bearing bone. It is not believed surgery will be required. According to MU coach Gary Pinkel, the injured includes receiver Jerrell Jackson and center Travis Ruth, who will miss their second straight game. Jackson is out with a hamstring injury and Ruth with an Achilles injury

Defensive end Jacquies Smith will be out at least a week with a dislocated elbow and linebacker Will Ebner is out indefinitely with a high ankle sprain, and left tackle Elvis Fisher was lost for the season with a knee injury during camp. The Tigers play Arizona State Friday night. The game will be nationally televised and can be heard on 99-9 KFAV
