MIZZOU:
Pro days are often quiet, businesslike affairs, but, by all accounts, the scene in the Mizzou weight room on March 17 was something like a three ring circus. It was so crowded. it was hard to move around. Sharing the space were, among others, relatives, friends, former teammates, as well as coaches, scouts and executives from all 32 NFL teams. The media roster included Pro Football Weekly, the Sporting News, and the Kansas City Star.
In 36 years of college coaching, Gary Pinkel told the St Louis Post Dispatch that he had never been part of a pro day with such hoopla.” It’s been pretty exciting. It's been great for the
University of
Missouri and for our football program. When the
University of
Missouri's name is all over
America, you can't put a price tag on what this is doing. And that's kind of how football and academics can work together."
