Kenny Chesney Takes Top Prize At ACM Awards

The Academy of Country Music Awards were handed out last night. The ceremony  included a number of highlights ranging from a Garth Brooks hitfest medley to a tribute to the late Eddy Arnold.   The only early negatives on the show had to do with the overall sound that was coming across in the live telecast.   The night’s biggest surprise was when Miranda Lambert walked away with Album Of The Year award honors beating out veterans like George Strait, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley.   Here’s a look at all of the winners:

 

Entertainer of the Year: Kenny Chesney (4th year in a row)

Top Male Vocalist: Brad Paisley

Top Female Vocalist: Carrie Underwood

Top Vocal Group: Rascal Flatts (6th straight win)

Top Vocal Duo: Brooks & Dunn (13th consecutive)

Top New Male Vocalist: Jack Ingram

Top New Female Vocalist: Taylor Swift

Top New Duo or Vocal Group: Lady Antebellum

Album of the Year: “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” – Miranda Lambert

Single Record of the Year: “Stay” – Sugarland

Song of the Year: “Stay” – Sugarland

Video of the Year:  “Online” – Brad Paisley

Vocal Event: “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” – Tracy Lawrence w/ Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney

Crystal Milestone Award: Garth Brooks (for being the biggest selling solo artist in recorded history)

Home Depot Humanitarian Award: Rascal Flatts
