Jim Hager, one-half of the popular 70's country duo The Hagers, died last Thursday of an apparent heart attack. He was 61.

The Hagers signed with Capitol in 1969 and charted with “Gotta Get to Oklahoma (‘Cause California’s Getting’ to Me).” They joined Hee Haw in 1971, and stayed with the show for 18 years.  They had three minor hits in 1970 with “Loneliness With You,” “Goin’ Home to Your Mother” and “Silver Wings.” The duo’s final song to chart was 1971’s “I’m Miles Away.”
