Gretchen Wilson, who dropped out of school in the ninth grade, passed her GED exam in April and will don a cap and gown during a May 15th graduation ceremony.

Wilson said that her 7-year-old daughter was the big reason she finally finished, saying, “I certainly don’t want her to think you can be this successful without an education.”

Meanwhile, Gretchen is working on a new album, which is set for release later this year. Wilson is doing most of the recording in her home studio.  Wilson is hoping to make a comeback of sorts, after her last two albums failed to match the success of her debut "Redneck Woman" project.
