Carrie Underwood is the all-time most popular “American Idol” winner, and Jason Castro was voted the most overrated contestant this season, according to a new poll released yesterday by AOL Television.

With the most watched U.S. TV show reaching its climax, finalists David Archuleta and David Cook are running neck and neck in terms of best performances of the seventh season, according to the poll. While Underwood won 54% of the vote as favorite all-time “American Idol,” Kelly Clarkson came in second with 26%. Australian Michael Johns was considered the 2008 “Idol” loser most likely to make it, despite being eliminated five weeks ago.

Underwood will return to the “American Idol” stage tomorrow to perform for the season 7 finale. Carrie will perform her current hit “Last Name.” She is currently headlining her “Carnival Ride Tour” with special guest Josh Turner.
