A Warrenton man has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after pleading guilty to charges of sexual abuse in the St. Charles County Circuit Court.

30 year old Kevin Wayne Weckherlin was sentenced to 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of first-degree statutory sodomy.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in October 2010 in a hot tub at the St. Peters Rec-Plex when Weckherlin had sexual contact with a relative. According to police, another person witnessed the contact and notified the lifeguard, who called park rangers.

Weckherlin will have to serve 85 percent of his sentence, or about 11 years.  Sentencing was handed down by St. Charles County Circuit Judge Nancy Schneider.
