St. Charles
police are looking for a man who attempted to rob a local dry cleaning shop at gunpoint, Wednesday.
Police say the suspect walked into the First Capitol Cleaners on
First Capitol Drive at 1 p.m. and told the clerk that he had a gun and he demanded money.
But, when the man reached over the counter, the clerk stabbed him in the back of the hand with a seam ripper instead of handing over cash. The man fled and the clerk chased him to the end of the block.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-foot-8 inches tall. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gloves and large sunglasses. He had a black scarf covering his nose and mouth.
Police say they do have a person of interest in the case.
