10 beautiful young ladies had their sights set on becoming 2009's MISS KFAV.  A panel of 3 judges decided, and it was not easy.  As you can see by the pictures, these ladies are special.  In the end, which is really just the beginning, Natalie Mae Kohlmeier of St. Louis will wear the special Miss KFAV sash, and represent KFAV at key Live Broadcasts, Station Events, parades, fairs, and will actually learn radio from the inside, doing some live broadcasts herself and learning to produce promos and commercials.  Kaylin Bade, of Imperial Pageant Productions, put the pagaent together, and the 10 contestants responded to on-air promos inviting young ladies, married or single, ages 17 to 24 to enter.

Along with Natalie, 1st Alternate is Nikki DeRoy of Warrenton, and 2nd Alternate is Katie Juergens of St. Clair, who also won honors as the girl raising the most money for Kaspar Broadcasting's Relay For Life Team, 'The Airheads"...by receiving the Community Services Award and a special neclace.  She organized her own 'car wash' to raise the funds for our team.

All three ladies received floral presentations from Troy Flower Shop, Gift Certificates from Salon Kashmir in Winghaven, Mary Kay Gift Certificates, and sashes.  Miss KFAV received an earring and neclace set and an embroidered Miss KFAV sash and sash pin, and an Austrian Crystal Crown. Thanks also to the Motel 6 Wentzville Banquet Center for hosting the Miss KFAV Pagaent.  Lil Bobby, from the DC & The Family Show assisted and made a bid for the first "Mr. KFAV" honors but was denied.

Any of the beautiful 10 ladies could represent KFAV with this title, so Kaspar Broadcasting was fortunate to have such a quality group of women participating.  All are enthusiastic listeners to KFAV, some having KFAV as a favorite radio station from a very young age.  The competition featured a folksy "Western Wear" judging segment with spunky introductions, evening wear with random questions given to the contestants.  Photography was provided by "A Moment In Time Photography" in St. Peters, and can be found on-line at photographyamit.com.  Krystin Lakebrink, current Miss Soulard Oktoberfest, emceed the event and did a wonderful job.
