Lawsuit Filed Over Blog On Local Website

A law firm in Troy has filed a lawsuit against an anonymous blogger who posted comments on the website,Troy Topix.

The law firm of Flynn & Davenport, LLC in Troy,   filed the suit on behalf of their client in Lincoln County circuit court.   The client was not identified.   The suit alleges two counts of libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress.   The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $25,000 and punitive damages.

The firm said subpoenas will be served in order to ascertain the identity of the anonymous defendant. Once the person's identity is revealed, the defendant will be named and added to the suit.
