A Lake Saint Louis man was sentenced Friday to a year in jail for a car crash
in which his passenger died. Authorities report the fatal crash occurred May 19, 2007, when 23 year old Stephen A. Belosi, of the first block of Moorings Drive, was driving a Corvette eastbound on Highway DD near Sommers Road. Belosi tried to make a left turn and entered the westbound lane in an attempt to pass four stopped vehicles.

An oncoming pickup collided with the Corvette, and 21 year old Jennifer A. Edgar, of O'Fallon, was thrown from the car and died. Belosi pleaded guilty earlier to involuntary manslaughter and another traffic-related charge.
