Motorists are advised to avoid the westbound lanes of the Highway 40 / Daniel Boone Bridge between Chesterfield and Weldon Spring.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two tractor-trailers have jackknifed in the westbound lanes of the bridge.  One of the tractor-trailers was reportedly carrying a double-wide house trailer.

Medical crews have been called to the accident scene, so there appears to be injuries from the accident.  There is also quite a bit of debris scattered on the roadway.

Those who are trying to get across the Missouri River from St. Louis County into St. Charles County on Highway 40 are advised to try and use the Highway 364 / Page Avenue Bridge, or the I-70 / Blanchette Memorial Bridge until around 3:00 this afternoon, while emergency crews clear the accident scene.
