Bicyclists and drivers butted heads Tuesday night over whether bikes should be allowed on shoulderless semi-rural roads in southwest St. Charles County.

Officials and residents discussed County Councilman Joe Brazil's proposal to ban bikes on some roads with more hearings to be held on the issue.  Supporters of the proposal say cycling on the narrow roads present dangers for bikers and also for drivers who suddenly see them going around curves and they add that the bicyclists hold up traffic.  But cyclists say the bill is unfair and unneeded.
