Prosecutors have charged a Fenton man for setting fires at two hotels on the same night. St. Louis County Police said surveillance video helped identify 34 year old John Lyerla, who is accused of setting an exterior trashcan on fire at the Super 8 Motel on South Highway Drive at 10pm on October 6th.
He is also accused of setting a fire to a hallway trashcan inside the Drury Inn on South Highway Drive a half hour later. Lyerla has been charged with first-degree arson and first degree attempted arson, and is jailed on a $500,000 bond
