Authorities report that a car rammed a security gate outside Stephen King's home in Maine. According to a published story in the Bangor Daily News, 25-year-old Renee Harris of Alton was driving the car on Sunday. The Alton woman claims she was trying to avoid a car that veered onto her side of the road. No one was injured and police estimate the damage to the gate might total $100,000.

This is not the first time crazed fans have tried to reach King at home. In 1991, a man broke in while King's wife, Tabitha, was home alone. She ran to a neighbor's house and called police. Then in 2003, an illegal immigrant charged with stalking King was ordered deported from the US. Mr. King spent months recovering after he was hit by a car as he walked along a Maine road in 1999.   This all goes to prove that it ain’t easy being Steven King.
