In the NBA, the final two playoff spots have been filled from last night’s action.   In the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks have reached the playoffs for the first time in 9 years.   They were given the final playoff spot in the East, after Indiana ’s 117-110 loss to Washington last night.

In the Western Conference, Denver claimed the final playoff spot when Golden State lost to Phoenix 122-116.   Golden State has the unfortunate circumstance of winning 59% of its games, and being 15 games over .500, but those stats were not enough to push the Warriors into the ultra-competitive Western Conference playoffs.  The Warriors will set an NBA record for the team with the most regular-season wins that missed the playoffs.
