For the first time ever, all four number-one seeds have advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
UCLA and
North Carolina
advanced to national semifinals Saturday night, with victories over Xavier and
Louisville
.
The Bruins had a relatively easy win, 76-57, as Kevin Love posted 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a dominant performance.
North Carolina
got 28 points and 13 rebounds from
Missouri
native Tyler Hansbrough, and the Pride of Poplar Bluff knocked down two jump shots in back-to-back possessions to push the Tar Heels beyond the reach of
Louisville
, en route to a 83-73 triumph.
Yesterday, the
Memphis
defense was dominant, as the Tigers raked
Texas
85-67.
Derrick Rose had 21 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds to lead
Memphis

Kansas
survived a heart-stopping scare from Davidson, who tried to become the Cinderella to crash the top-seeded Final Four ball.
Davidson had a chance to win the game with a final shot, but the sensational Stephen Curry was forced to give up the ball while facing a suffocating double-team trap, and a last-second shot by Jason Richards was wide-left at the buzzer.
The Jayhawks escaped with a 59-57 victory, to give head coach Bill Self his first-ever trip to the Final Four at the helm of a
Kansas
team.
