The former top man in the Missouri Department of Corrections will bring his expertise to the St Charles County Department of Corrections. On Friday, Larry Crawford was named by County Executive Steve Ehlmann to head the Corrections Department in St. Charles County. He replaces Colonel Al Stahl, who had been at the helm of the County Corrections Department since March 29,1995.

Mr. Crawford has served as state representative from the 117th District from 1996 to 2005, and was one of the most active members of the Legislature on correctional institutions and issues during his terms. Mr.Crawford also served as the Moniteau County Circuit Clerk and Recorder of Deeds. He will be relocating to St. Charles County with his wife Donna. This appointment, of course, hinges on the approval of the County Council, which will meet Monday night.
