When
U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton decided to concede the Democratic nomination to fellow Senator Barack Obama a couple of months ago, she did so begrudgingly…as if she still had some fight left in her.
According to a story in Metro Source News (a division of Metro Networks), there are reports surfacing that Mrs. Clinton may be considering a return to the Democratic fray, during the upcoming Democratic National Convention.
There is still an uneasy truce between the camps of Obama and
Clinton, and perhaps Hillary is considering resubmitting her name for nomination, if she and her delegates don’t have a prominent role in the convention…which begins in a little more than two weeks.
According to Democratic Party rules, a candidate only has to file a signed request to party officials, in order to be considered for receiving the party’s formal presidential nomination.
If Mrs. Clinton was truly not seeking the Democratic nomination, she would strongly deny the rumor.
However, the Metro Source report indicates that Hillary has said “No decisions have been made”, regarding a possible re-entry into the party nomination process.
There hasn’t been much activity from Mrs. Clinton lately, regarding any publicized campaigning for Obama.
So, even though that she is reportedly scheduled to campaign for Obama Friday in
Nevada, there are rumblings that she may try to play one more card in order to become the Democratic Party’s nominee for president.
And, she may wait to play that card at the height of the Democratic National Convention.
